Why read along?
Because the topic is one that speaks to you. Because that place is close to your heart. Because you want to engage in imagining a new world into being. A just world. A kind world. A harmonious state of be-ing.
Because you believe that dancing with the other is better than fighting them [Or maybe because you’re just curious or appalled by an Arab woman’s unorthodox thoughts.]
Or perhaps because you too strive to restore the balance and yearn to hear the perfect song of creation. Embracing love and not arms. With one another, and within ourselves.
Talk
Perhaps now more than ever, we are becoming aware of the fact that what happens ‘over there’ is only a continuation and a reflection of what’s happening here, everywhere, and what’s happening inside.
The voices of hate, fear and separation grow louder, but the voices of connection and love are also there- only in their softness, they often go unnoticed. Call me crazy, naïve or a dreamer, but I choose to tune to this whisper and to sing along. Not in denial of political charades, false news and perpetuated lies, not turning a blind eye and accepting injustice, but refusing to buy into poisonous narratives and violence.
“The greater the obstacle, the greater the potential light” (Kabbalistic principle)
There is really no lack of obstacles to tackle on the planet, but you have to admit, the bloody-holy-land is simply too mythic and too complicated and too-wrong - too many agendas involved - too much blood spilled - even god is involved - a situation impossible to solve – a topic that’s guaranteed to get you nowhere and piss everyone off. [Last time I talked I got myself boycotted. Can you get re-boycotted? or De-boycotted? or Un-boycotted… There are always new countries/peoples to add being boy-cotted by, I guess. But back to being serious.]
Imagine.
What if… If with a capital I, for the obstacles are innumerable - What if peace is realised there. In the holiest of places. Can you imagine the LIGHT. Can You Imagine? So bright. It would shine across the globe and transform the world. The ultimate paradigm shift.
Disclaimer
Ofcourse, I’m not exactly partial. I am Bint Ibrahim. Dissident daughter of the patriarchy. Born with the burden of Palestinian blood, my heart beats there (or rather, arrhythmics – if that could be a verb because that’s the case). To avoid a heart attack, I’ve decided to stop keeping my thoughts bent up till I finish that book and start talking here… in service of resorting the feminine face of god, for only then will al-Sakina/Shekina descend. Peace and tranquility. Bee upon you
What to expect
Uncensored reflections-sometimes ‘serious’ sometimes less-so-sounding. Anecdotes. Commentaries on world affairs, current and past. Dabbles into language and myths, including religion [against the warning of my father.] Stories and observations from Nature and how she might guide us in our quest. Spelling errors - for I have no editor and English is my second language - the eternal excuse.
My posts will include written pieces and at times audio recordings.
